Dark times

Let's all pray for justice to be served to the victims of the cold-blooded massacre that took place in Maguindanao last Monday. Not only for the journalists, but for the other innocent victims as well. Nobody should get away with this.

Take care always, everyone.

International Day for Climate Action

On the eve of the International Day for Climate Action, Greenpeace activists walked the streets of Tomas Morato wearing sandwich boards with photos of "Stupid" "Not Stupid" to give away leaflets of climate change information. These photos demonstrates what the "Stupid" acts like pollution, gas guzzlers, deforestation, chemical farming, and coal contributes to climate change and what "Not Stupid" solutions like renewable energy, forests protection, zero waste, sustainable agriculture, bike walk and run can help fight this problem.Today, the world celebrates this event as part of their call to action for their government leaders on the upcoming climate change meeting in Copenhagen this December 2009.

Ondoy in Cainta

My "coverage" of Typhoon Ondoy that ravaged our community here in Cainta can be found here, here and here.

Thanks to Iris and the others who texted to check up on me. My family and I are okay; we were able to secure most of our stuff in time and climb up to the second story of our house. Damages to our house and belongings are minimal. A lot of our neighbors weren't as fortunate.

Hope everyone else is alright.

typhoon Ondoy

Bagong Silangan evacuation center, Quezon City - In the middle of all the dead people, a mother tries to breastfeed her baby. In another corner, a group of kids while the time playing with one another. A grandmother weeps in desperation. She lost eight of her grandchildren. A father stares at his dead son in disbelief. There is a mad scramble for hot lugaw by the door. Bags of clothes are strewn grotesquely around. Candles for the dead are burning. The victims need all the help they can get.

global campaign on climate action bike ride

Makati City, Philippines. 08 September 2009. Bikers from Makati City and from GCCA member organizations Christian Aid, WWF, NGO Forum on the ADB, Green Renewable Independent Power Producers (GRIPP), Oxfam, and Greenpeace then pedaled off, accompanied by a couple of Electric Jeepneys (E-Jeeps) from GRIPP, to deliver the Countdown to Copenhagen calendars and letters of urgency containing the Copenhagen call, emphasizing the role of industrialized countries in the ongoing negotiations by making stops at the European Commission Delegation office and at the US Embassy. The tour ended at the US Embassy, in a symbolic bid to pressure the US to take the lead in signing a global deal during the Climate Change Summit this December, in Copenhagen, Denmark. The US, considered the highest carbon emitter in history, is expected to set an example for other countries in committing to substantial reductions in carbon emissions, and to set up a global fund for climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Now that we have a blog (thanks Iris ^_^) we can now post here schedules of shoots and other gimmicks. Hope to here from you all soon guys! Sana matuloy yung official reunion natin c",)
